Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will I need?
This will depend on the issue and varies from person to person. The minimum is usually six sessions but this will be negotiated at the first session. The work we do together will be continually reviewed. It is important that you attend every session to get the most out of you counselling.

How much do session cost?
Each session costs £45 for 1 hour. I am also able to offer Counselling students a reduced rate.

Will the things that I tell you remain private?
Yes, everything that is discussed between us will be confidential with very few exceptions which will be discussed during the first session.

What will happen in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to find out about each other and to decide if we can work together. It is also an opportunity to discuss the issues, timings, confidentiality and cost.

What if I decide not to continue with counselling?
Counselling is not suited to everyone, and if you decide after the initial session or further into therapy, that it is not for you , there will be no pressure for you to continue.
